P1 and P2 visit Blackberry Hill Farm

Date: June 16, 2017 Author: School Admin Categories: News

‘Open Farm Weekend’ runs from 17th – 18th June 2017. On Friday 16th June, P1 and P2 visited Blackberry Hill Farm in Gilford. The children had a fun filled morning observing the different farm animals. They particularly enjoyed feeding the hens, holding the goslings and planting Nasturtiums, which they got to take home! On top of all this, they learned lots of new and interesting facts about plants and animals.  Thank you to Maria and Marta for all their help and a big THANK YOU to Mr. Harry McGaffin and his team for welcoming us and making our day so enjoyable. If you are free this weekend, Blackberry Farm will be open to visitors on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th June from 11am-4pm.  There will be sampling of delicious European Angus meat plus pony rides for children! We highly recommend it!
